Why Clinical Supervision Matters
Clinical supervision plays a crucial role in the ongoing development of therapists. It provides the opportunity to receive personalized feedback, gain fresh insights, and refine clinical skills in a safe and supportive environment. At Full Bloom Counseling, we believe that supervision is more than just learning new techniques—it’s about personal growth, reflection, and self-awareness.
Good supervision doesn't just make you a better clinician. It helps you remember why you chose this work.
Our clinical supervision is designed to help you thrive in your career. Whether you’re a new candidate or an experienced clinician, we tailor our supervision to your unique needs and professional goals. Together, we will create a supervision contract that outlines your specific objectives and how we can best support your growth.
Our Approach to Clinical Supervision
We believe supervision should be collaborative, curious, and human. It’s not just about checking boxes—it’s about cultivating who you are as a clinician.
Ethical guidance rooted in real clinical situations, not just textbook scenarios
Case consultation that sits with complexity and resists the urge to oversimplify
Skill development through honest feedback, not just encouragement
Nervous system awarenessthis work is hard on clinicians, and we take that seriously
Countertransference explorationwho you are in the room matters as much as what you know
Identity-affirming supportespecially for LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent clinicians navigating a field not always built for them
We currently supervise LPCCs and MFTCs working toward full licensure in Colorado, and welcome clinicians from diverse backgrounds and theoretical orientations.
What to Expect in Clinical Supervision
Supervision at Full Bloom is not a performance review. It's a genuine clinical relationship — one where you're expected to bring your real questions, your stuck cases, and your honest experience of doing this work.
Sessions typically involve case consultation, review of documentation and clinical decision-making, professional development toward licensure, and space to process the emotional weight that comes with this profession. We keep caseloads manageable and tailor supervision to where you actually are, not where you're supposed to be.
Both individual and group supervision formats are available, depending on your licensing board requirements and what will serve you best.
Clinical Supervision Hours in Colorado
Our supervisors are AAMFT Approved Supervisors meeting the supervision requirements for both LPC licensure and LMFT licensure in Colorado. We offer individual supervision, group supervision, and can work with associate therapists at all stages of their post-graduate supervised hours requirement.
Sessions are available in-person at our Denver office and via telehealth. We're happy to discuss whether our supervision structure will meet your specific board requirements before you commit.
Common Questions About Clinical Supervision
Becca Moravec is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. We strongly recommend confirming with DORA (Colorado's Division of Regulatory Agencies) and your licensing board that our supervision format meets your specific requirements before starting. We're happy to provide documentation of supervisor credentials.
Requirements vary by license. LPC candidates typically need 2,000 supervised hours with a minimum of 100 direct supervision hours. LMFT candidates need 3,000 supervised hours with 200 supervision hours. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with DORA, as these can change.
Yes. Group supervision can count toward your required supervision hours (check your board's specific rules) and offers the added benefit of learning from peers' cases. We keep groups small — typically 3–5 supervisees — to ensure everyone gets meaningful time each session.
Our supervisors bring a systemic, attachment-informed lens alongside training in EMDR, the Enneagram, and HAES-aligned practice. We're not dogmatic about modality — we focus on helping you develop your clinical voice while building a strong theoretical foundation.
