“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers-so many caring people in this world.” Fred Rogers
Helping professionals (therapists, first-responders, nurses, teachers, doctors, police officers, etc) can be so much of what is good in this world. And yet, as you give and give and give – it can take a toll on you. It is easy to stop caring for yourself because you are so focused on taking care of others. You may experience vicarious trauma or your own trauma on the job. You may feel burned out or fatigued. But you want to keep helping!
Counseling can give you the space you need to find healing and respite so that you may continue to live out your calling as a helper.
If you have been contemplating counseling and you’re a helping professional – now is the time. YOU deserve this space just as anyone else does.
As helpers ourselves- and our own therapy is pivotal to us continuing to do our work. Therapy is VITAL to taking care of yourself.
We’d love to be part of your self-care routine, your healing, or your journey to self discovery! Let’s connect!
